Day 265

E – rewrite

Excavation
.

.
a little girl fell out of bed yesterday and found herself,
strapped

to a plane that sits amidst the conundrum of reality-cum-
imagination

she looked out of her window to spot two coffins, one
floating

faraway, median of open cluster, searching for places to
rest

the other coffin sitting bare, ajar, atop a flat parcel in the
middle

of her backyard, repellent and summoning all at once,
resistant

to herself and to where she needs to go, to be student and
scientist

she sits at the edge of her bed, knowing and wondering what’s
next
