Day 268
8:10 pm

E – 4 – rewrite

Excavation

4. The Facts

a.
My mom was my
muse ever since I can
remember writing.
Only now that we’ve lowered
his ashes into the ground,
do my dad’s ears
burn every time I pick
my pen.

b.
There was a key. There
was a secret safe deposit box.
There were many packages
sent and lots of money
gone. There is a story to
uncover.
This might hurt.
A lot.

c.
When your mother
wakes up screaming on
the kitchen floor, it is
more important to
help her up
than ask her why
she’s lying there
