E – 10 – rewrite

10. Center Divider

Language is gruesome when
spewed out from the wombs of
pain, regurgitation like thunder,
splattering their gigantic,
premature mad nothings all over
the ones who stand by the most to
haggle with their desperate words

There she was, spitting up loss and
plans to end her own suffering,
taking her life, an act of utmost
applied power at the hands of the
weakest being, in her worst moment,
news gushing like blood
onto the floor of the car

All I could think of was, But you’re
saying this to your daughter!
which is a good thought, hence
followed by reasons of insanity,
moreover this person must be
suddenly crazy, so she doesn’t
really mean this, this is temporary

That thought, of course, being
fleeting, my next was to top her’s,
keep this vehicle from getting to
its destination, the tight-lipped
garage, and fly it over towards
the center divider to the left of us,
-who’s crazy now?-

And show her, feed her emptiness
with a blast of finite nothingness,
just so she could, in that last
moment while we are sailing, by
my hands, to our end, and say
something to show me the
meaninglessness of her death talk

But I could not do it, could barely
muster a whimper, all I did was
drive, relinquishing all my strength
to the most dominating voice, her
fragility, and with every passing
mile, wish for someone other than
her, or me, to end all of this
