Day 288
9:46 pm

pearls

artifice…

ardor at the thought of promises

engagement rings like guarantees

breathing better if she is not alone

fortune at the sole granting of luck

quiet breeds a lust for distraction

.

.

real…

sage words released in the
afterthought of a dream

a grandmother’s spirit came to her
for a reason other than warning

spell of a cold, raising lips to water
glass and legs to the edge of a bed

he is everything he is to you
when you give way to nightmares

the world is unkind when toxins show
gratitude journeying through skin
