Day 289
1:16 pm

burgeoning political career in fifth gear

the perfect power couple wedding day

black and white frames, his promise

forever now embedded in her belly

to remain somewhere above the horizon

podium of sweat, waterfall of pledges
clots the cable, blows the speaker

flourishing stream of fanatic advances
unbeknownst to the marriage bed

flashing bulbs capture the law of
what is too good to be true

mug shots stream out of the sink,
pop out of the toaster for breakfast

forever, now, embedded in her belly,
promises that wish to be bled
