Day 290
11:48 pm; 1:28 am

hard, calcification of the heart space

better for her body, but he was calling

flow against the currents of heartbreak

cascade of lessons, she knows she needs more

veins bubbling underneath the
surface, the heart races

pigeons’ blood display of truth,
of her wished, her actual, worth

to swirl spit and seek expensive
tags for the sake of a better taste

sediment rests after a temporary
lift of spirits, heavy at the bottom
