Day 293
10:15 pm

thirst of the transplants

I will say
So what?

Whips of fancy,
bibles of stone,
leather bound jewels
and hollows of gold…

They have come to proclaim
our sidewalks have buried
the theater by the stars,

They, who believe we’ve hidden
our dreams while nonchalantly
asking us for the keys

Books = magic

Love = luck

Culture = lore

Their business cards
ask us to succeed, but their
blood lust lurks near our
proscenium, waiting for
our failures to be pinned
against the cyc

They show us empty pails
and camouflage their flasks,
because we know hunger,
we shall drink them

Have no misgivings.

Leave the door ajar.

Open your mouths wide,

as we watch them come.
