Day 335 – dawn

Day 335
5:55 pm



dawn in Los Angeles has its
head steeped in exhaust and a
million feet drumming the asphalt
as they make their way to school

dawn eats ideas for breakfast
and touts clocks in the face of
minions while it splashes stale
coffee across their piles of work

dawn tests its fingers against the
respite of clean toilets stalls and
some assurance that more than
the despots are here to rule

dawn sits with or calm or alarm
in this city, it just depends on
where the angels tucked you
in the night before
